The Somerset Levels are highly regarded as some of the best wetland habitat to be found anywhere in the UK.

Why this is can be seen by the staggering array of wildlife that calls this beautiful area home. Some of which are nationally threatened and some can only be found breeding nowhere else but here.

Join me to find some of this spectacular wildlife and learn more about what really makes these reserves so special.

The Wildlife on the Levels trips are priced per session based on groups of 1-4 people (see additional information). If looking for a larger group, please send an email to the below address

If you would like to book a day with me, please send an e-mail to griffinwildlife@gmail.com with the date you would like to go, the length of tour you would like and the number in your party.

We arranged a guided bird walk in May with Chris Griffin to view birds of the Somerset Levels. We live in San Francisco and had waited until pretty close to our departure date to arrange a bird walk. No problem there – Chris facilitated a meeting plan, tailoring it to our interests and available time.
Birding by ear pays off for us at home but not at Ham Wall, where so many of the birds were unfamiliar. The secretive Cetti’s warblers, and lively, melodic, Blackcaps calling from the trees were a mystery. Fortunately, we had Chris to decipher their calls and to train his spotting scope on almost 60 different species in one glorious morning! Chris also is fluent in dragonflies, damselflies, moths and butterflies, too!
If you are fortunate enough to spend time viewing nature with Chris you will learn a lot, while enjoying his charming, delightful company. He will send a detailed bird list complete with his beautiful photographs to help you chronicle your day.
We are already planning our next trip the UK and will book a tour with Chris to see more of the magnificent wildlife in the Somerset Levels. Thanks Chris!!
